Hurricane season started out strong. Given the strength of this hurricane we are very fortunate there weren't more deaths in the Caribbean.
My parents (who are visiting in the States) said there was only some heavy rain. They were lucky. Other islands were slammed and now Dean is creating havoc in the gulf of Mexico.
During non-hurricane season this is something you might find. My sister took this photo in July. This is on the Atlantic Ocean side of St. Martin and the water is a little rougher.

I love rainbows. :) I'm glad that your parents were lucky to have escaped the severity of Dean's path!
Oh i hope everything is ok in the carebbeans, It's a blessing we don't have hurricanes here in Italy besides earthquakes and flood of course. Now it's hot in the South, 115F i'm going to get some ice:)
My parents are glad to have just moved back to Michigan from Florida. Charlie pretty much decimated their town.
Glad to hear everything is OK in parents' land. It's HUMID here today. Can you believe it? It's never humid here! And I still complain ;)
I take an awesome picture.
I wish I was there now. I'm over DC.
OK, so weather gods, when I complained about the obsessive heat and humidity, I didn't mean for you to make it feel like November. It's August. I shouldn't see my breath when I take my morning walk! Thankfully yours,
Gibber
giulia - thanks...I was so worried about the storm.
paolo - that is molto caldo!
diesel - Every hurricane season I get worried. They are predicting this will be a heavy one.
sognatrice - Poverina. It was humid here last week and it felt awful. I got used to humidity when I lived back east but now I have no tolerance for it (or could weather).
gibber - whatevs. the photo is, like, okay. :)
I'm glad St. Martin made it okay and that your parents were visiting here, instead of getting drenched there...
yeah, it's more than ok! and uh, who took that stunning photo you use as your icon? oh wait. i think it was me! teee!
thanks Jen.
gibber - fine. you are amazing. happy now?
