Clay Aiken comes out of the closet.

And in related news, the sky is blue.

Seriously, I'm glad he doesn't have to lie anymore. I'm surprised so many of his fans (the Claymatics) had no idea or still refuse to believe he's gay. Are they for real?

Off topic, McCain wants to delay the Presidential and VP debates "because of the financial crisis".

I'm sorry but as President one has to juggled many problems at once. I don't think they should delay them. I actually want to hear what the candidates have to say about these important issues.

I had the same reaction when I saw that Clay headline, I said to myself: "No shit, Sherlock"!

Couldn't agree with you more about the presidential debates, let's hope the rest of the country feels the same!

It reminds of me of when Dolce and Gabbana anounced they were a couple. It made the 8pm news on all the TV stations here and I looked at my husband and said *How is this news?*

romerican - exactly, I hope he meets a nice person to share his life with. He's seems very lonely. I have no idea what is going to happen tomorrow with the debates. Will McCain just not show up?

joanne - ha. I think they broke up right? I saw a car ad with one of them and he was all over this woman. I thought "is he bisexual now?" I'm so confused.

Agreed on all of it. I really hope the debates go as scheduled...otherwise we may never see Palin in a debate....

The debate must go on!!! If McCain does not show up, I hope he takes a hard punch for it... some 12 points would be great.
I agree with Obama when he says that they (the candidates) should not take presidential politics to Washington.

Yes his 'stall tactics' are irritating. And Palin came off as who she really is (way under qualified and informed) in her interview with Katie Couric. Notice how she never looked into the camera , just to the ground as they walked, and seemed to stumble for answers.I think her crash course in foregn affairs this week at the UN is a joke.
Obama seems to be rising in the polls after this.
Im glad Clay is finally true to himself. I hope he found so uch happiness in the baby and being free of secrets.

Lets see. Did President Bush stop our TWO wars to deal with the economic crisis? No. Presidents have to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. It's such horse shit.

As for Clay, yeah...no kidding. I hope he finds happiness.

No surprise about Clay. I agree w/you on the debates.

I wouldn't call what McCain did 'stall tactics' although I seriously disagree with his decision to not debate and to suspend his campaign. People do want to hear from the potential leader of the US, financial cris or not. The fact that there IS a financial crisis gives people more reason to see all the candidates.
I think Obama won this round-even though technically it didn't happen.

michelle - We'll see what happens tomorrow. This is the strangest election I've ever seen.

beatriz - I can't believe McCain just won't show up. That is crazy. Even the poll at Fox news is saying most Americans want to debates to happens.

glamah16 - I'm not a fan of Clay's music but have a soft place in my heart for teachers (he used to teach special ed). I saw the Couric interview. "I'll get back to ya."

gibber - the logic is nuts. I think Steve Schmidt made a mistake. This was a dumb move.

sdg1844 - tomorrow is going to be very interesting.

j. doe - At first I thought why is McCain afraid to debate? Now I think it has nothing to do with the Presidential debates but the VP one. Which is weird because as everyone has been saying, the top of the ticket is more important.

Do you know we can watch the debates online? Is that possible?

new - Good question. I think we might be able to. With the time difference I might have to see it after the fact.

Hi there,

I'm also a Caribbean/North American hybrid planning to move to Rome in March 2009. I came across your blog and i've signed up for your feed - it's a great site, and I'm completely intrigued by this path you've chosen! Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself in case I leave a comment and you wonder who the hell I am :)

Ciao for now,
Toni

As a Canadian I am ashamed to be so into American politics right now. Just kidding! But it's such an exciting race. I even dream of Obama sometimes, heh heh!
I read an interesting article in the Guardian about the real reasons behind McCain's move: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/michaeltomasky/2008/sep/24/johnmccain.uselections20083

I just hope to god American voters will go to the polls informed(really informed) and make the right choice.

HAHAHA - you made me laugh out loud with your related news. :)

yeah no big surprise (though my sister is one of those who was shocked! but then she's a bit naive) personally I don't watch American Idol and could care less.

Politics and this financial crap is making my head explode. UGH

Seriously not a surprise. I thought he was already unofficially out. Next thing you know, we'll see Ricky Martin on a cover. He's got a baby now too and maybe he'll be moved in the same way.

This election, this country... it's unbelievable. Just when I start to think it couldn't get any more insane, it gets more insane! I love how Obama basically is like, you better show up tomorrow night 'cuz I'll be there.

And the Sarah Palin interview with Katie Couric??? She's worse than that Ms. South Carolina who was rambling nonsense!

milanese - thanks for that link. I will check out that article. Sweet dreams. ha

texas - I know what you mean. I have to take the news in small doses now.

los angelista - I thought Ricky was bi? For some reason I don't think he will be out any time soon.

Speaking of Miss South Carolina...see my post today.

Amen sister (on both fronts)... and McCain better show up for that debate tonight. I'm planning on staying up (3am!!) and watching it, and if he's a no-show I'll hit the roof!!

carrie - ha. he did show up. I'm sick so I couldn't stay up and watch it. I did watch most of it this morning.
