Can we talk about the deliciousness that is Chef Eric Ripert?

I've been watching "Top Chef" Season 5 on LEI (the Italian version of Lifetime...television for women). It's down to the final four.

Chef Ripert was one of the guest judges on an earlier episode. He's the head chef and co-owner of Le Bernardin in NYC. This four star restaurant is known for fish and is considered one of the best restaurants in America.

I love his accent. I could listen to him read the United States Capital Gains tax bill.

I get down right giddy when he and his best friend Anthony Bourdain show up on my favorite cooking and travel shows.

It cracks me up that in the video below, Chef Ripert says his recipe for sauteed cod with pea shoots and ginger-lemon scallion broth is easy.

I am so with you on this one! I've always loved Bourdain but I discovered Eric Ripert on Top Chef and loved his no-nonsense manner (and that accent!). What time is the Top Chef on on LEI? Btw, can't see the video you posted.

Katie - in so many ways!! Really.

gibber - Amen.

milanese - the video is working now. Not sure what was going on before.

Top Chep airs at 12:15 on LEI right after some British finishing school reality show.

It's also on at 8ish in the evening! yes, i've been watching it too, and Top Chef desserts on Monday nights. My husband is rooting for Fabio, mostly because of that comment Fabio made when Chef (too pretty for his own good) Novelli was on.

joanne - I watch Top Chef Desserts too. The chefs on that show seem very high strung.

Fabio is one of my favorites as well.

It is almost funny how on Top Chef they say that a dish is 'simple' and then when you find the actual recipe it has 300 or so ingredients in it. I like the show anyway, even though I decided a long time ago that I am no where close to a 'top chef'

j. doe - I know! I have to remind myself they are trained chefs. Some went to culinary school and the other have been working in professional kitchens for years.

Yea! I'm a Top Chef addict, but have kept up by streaming episodes from the US, so I won't spoil the ending for you. :) Eric Ripert is awesome! By the way, if you can find it online, watch Top Chef Masters, now that's some really incredible stuff.

jessica - thanks for the tip. I've seen clips of Top Chef Masters and know Fabio was on of the chefs.
