I just finished reading Edwidge Danitcat's award winning book, "Brother, I'm Dying". I will post a review once I can get past my anger. What happened to her uncle is inhumane. I'm horrified something like this can take place in America.
The book, along with the six month anniversary of the Haitian earthquake, made me think of this song written by Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.

I read that book too. It made me INCREDIBLY angry, so I feel you. Took me a while to get over the emotions it left me with.
Hi,
stumbled upon your blog and find it great.
In a few weeks we will be in Rome. Can you tip us on some good places to eat? We hate the tourist kinda things and love the 'local' hidden places where tourists never come or won't even notice(except for us :-)).
Thanks in advance,
Phi
Phi - unfortunately most of the local hidden places are closing for the summer this and next week.
Here's a post I wrote about places to eat. There will be a lot of tourists as they are the only ones in town in August. Call first, many like, Le Mani in Pasta will be closed mid August. Not sure about the others.
