This ragazza is very tired.

Seriously, I didn't write a darn thing this morning. What did I do today? I went on a walk across the bridge to Trastevere, down to the Vatican, took some photos, watched the news, had a piece of pizza for lunch (again), walked around Piazza Farnese, came back to the apartment tried to write, instead I spent an hour online looking at home decor and fashion websites/blogs then fell asleep on the couch. Okay after this post I am going to get to work.

I am tired because last night G., his girlfriend and I went to a birthday party. The birthday girl's mom is American, Dad is Italian and she grew up in Florence and NYC. She was a fantastic host. Great party...the food was Lebanese and very, very good. I think it's the first time I have had that cuisine. However, we left said party after midnight. Hello, it's the middle of the week. By the time I went to bed, it had to be close to 1:00 and I woke up at 6:00 a.m. as usual.

I enjoyed talking to one of the birthday girl's friends who runs world wide press for a high end fashion house. She spends a lot of time in L.A. esp. during Oscar week. That job is not fun. ha.

Tired ragazza and for good reason. It *is* rather lovely to be able to make your own schedule sometimes...to let your brain work when it feels like it instead of sitting there and trying to force something that ain't gonna happen ;)

You might be tired because it's quite a walk from Trastevere to the Vatican and back as I recall. I think in Rome, it is easy to just forget how much you are walking because a)it looks easy enough on the map (ha!), and b)trying to figure out the bus business can be frustrating (although, as I recall, your landlady to be gave you a bus map). Next time I'm in Rome, I'm buying one of those maps before I ever leave Termini Stazione. It's less tiring to walk than to stand around waiting for a bus that doesn't come. Oh, and I can never understand the Roman bus drivers, too.

bleeding espresso - true. I will get more writing done today.

glamah16 - I have been a lot more productive (with the exception of yesterday) since I moved here, which is nice.

ladonna - grazie mille!

sjd - very impressive. :) talk to you soon.

claudia - I try to sleep in but I still get up. I have always been a morning person. Maybe I will start to get up a little later at some point but I don't think at this age I'm going to turn into a night person.

homebody - I was tired because before moving to Rome I went to bed at 10-10:30. Here that is the time I have been eating dinner. ha. The Trastevere-Vatican walk is one of my shorter ones. Today I'm on a longer one...it's going to be gorgeous out!

I am still learning the bus schedule. The lines closest to the apartment run frequently, esp. to Piazza Venezia and Termini.

Umm...I sat on my couch and walked between the kitchen and fridge. Your day was wayyy more scenic :)

At least you were tired due to fun. We have a couple of Lebanese restaurants/bakeries in A2 - I've known the owners since C was born - and the food is out of this world and the hospitality amazing. Nothing like pairing Middle Eastern food with French accents!

dmarie - that is funny.

jen - I am still thinking about those dishes. I will have to try to make one of them if I can find the ingredients here.

texas espresso - given I still am living on someone's couch, I have to say things are going well. ha

thailandchani - grazie!

cherrye - the city was packed on Friday!!
