Jumping The Broom...it's a wrap

First congrats to two of our stars:

Paula Patton was just cast as an operative in Mission Impossible IV. This is a big deal. I'm still over Tom Terrific but I will see the movie to support Paula.

Julie Bowen was nominated for an EMMY for her work on the hit ABC TV (in Italy the show airs on Fox Life) series MODERN FAMILY. I think it's the funniest sitcom on TV. Hilarious.

After shooting in Canada, Martha's Vineyard and New York City, our movie is in the can. The shoot went well. As of now, JTB scheduled for a May 2011 release.

Once a trailer is cut, I will post it.

It's said a film is "made" three times...the writing, the shooting, then the editing. I cannot wait to see how it all comes together.

Hi! I just stumbled across your blog while reading Fat Juicy Oyster (black girl in Barcelona) and I am enjoying reading it! You're an inspiration to me, someone who also enjoys screenwriting.

Anyway, thanks for this blog, it's very interesting!

Yay! I'm not a fan of TC, but the last MI III was entertaining. Too bad (SPOILER ALERT!!) Philip SH was killed at the end of that...I'd love to see him play the villain again.

Modern Family was the find of the summer for me. Your brother always talked about how funny the show was, but I really couldn't add anymore TV to my schedule. I'm so glad I caught repeats this summer because it's HILARIOUS.

I can't wait to see your movie. Can I come to the premiere? :)

Woohoo! Can't wait for the trailer!

Totally agree about Modern Family; I caught an episode when I was in the States last winter and sought out more episodes online from over here. HILARIOUS.

It's funny -- my immediate thought was exactly like coco cookies -- wow that was fast. But I imagine it doesn't feel fast at all to you!!! But that's so cool, I had no idea they were already filming, much less that it's done. I like your comment about the movie being created three times -- it makes sense, but I'd have never thought of that. It's so fun how you illuminate this process for us on the outside!

I also like the Gibber asking if she'll get an invite to the premier!!

All of which is to say -- Congrats Ragazza!

grazie tutti!! - yes it is very fast and unusual for a script to go into production so fast. Most scripts are never made into films and the avg. time in development for those that do make it to the big screen is five years.

Anyway, belated congratulations on this post. I read it the day it went up and wanted to comment, but as I mentioned above, browser issues! Really looking forward to seeing this.

I know this is not a film section but I didn't know what label to place it under. You probably already now about the new NBC show called "Undercovers" with Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. It is being compared to Mr. and Mrs. Smith but with black folks as leads. I am terribly excited about it. What are you thoughts on it?

anon - I haven't read/seen the pilot but Boris is one of the nice guys I've met in Hollywood. I hope it does well.
