For the first time in 25 years there was some serious snow in Rome. Okay our version of serious is not the same as the craziness my poor sister had to deal with in DC last week.
It snowed a little in 2005 but this time the snow stuck to the ground for a least an hour. ha.
Everyone was out taking photos and cracking up.
I haven't seen snow in years between living in L.A. for so long and going home to the Caribbean for Christmas the last few years.
I went to college in upstate New York where it snowed all the time from October sometimes until May!! That darn lake-effect snow was a pain in the butt.
I happened to be out running an errand when the snow really started to fall. Standing in the Pantheon and watching it hit the floor was pretty amazing.

well done ...
i just realized this morning, i threw out my originals of the snow pictures i took.
I'm so angry at myself. oh well , it will snow again in another 20 years . haha
have a lovely week=)
xx
These photos are great, especially like that little snowman on the table. I was living there in 2005 when it supposedly snowed, but I must have been sleeping or out of town - I have no recollection whatsoever.
Nice pictures. very interesting to see snow where you usually don't.
What was your 1st thought when you saw it coming down from the sky? In Rome?
gina - grazie mille!!
ccl - It probably snowed for only 10 minutes. The snow last week only lasted for an hour or so on the ground. The sun came out and it melted pretty quickly.
j. doe - it was a trip.
simone - I was shocked. I looked out my bedroom window and yelled, "Snow!"
awesome!! did you just happen to have your camera with you, or did you head back out? Love that you went to the Pantheon to experience it.
yay! so glad you posted these photos...we were wondering what it looked like after you mentioned being in the pantheon :) ....it's magical
Ma questo è il colmo!
beautiful!
kim b - I happened to have it with me. Was very happy I did.
erin - :)
TMC - si!
liane - it was. Now it's raining again. sigh.
Snow in Pantheon must seem purely magical. Beautiful photos!
I love the little snowman on the table!
That was wonderful! It covered all the garbage and the dog excrements of the Rome's disgusting filthy streets :-) also the air was less polluted...
These are awesome pictures!! I'm so glad you got to see it. I'd have loved to have been there. All we got here in Catanzaro was RAIN!
In Catanzaro there's also a lot of CRAP! :-) And crumbling hills! :D
Oh, it's long been my dream to see snow coming in through the Panteon. Lucky you.
annika - grazie
kim b. - isn't it cute? I had to take a photo of it.
cherrye - it's rain here...again. The forecast calls for rain until next Tuesday.
christine - I completely lucked out with the timing.
Beautiful
I like the little snowman on the table!
I love the snow baby!
deidre - it was nice. I do miss seeing snow. I guess it's easy to when you don't have to shovel it every day.
moi - I cracked up when I saw it. One of the waiters from the caffe made it.
winegrrl - me too!
great pictures. you definately win with your Pantheon one. we ran across town to try and get a 'snow through the roof' shot!

3p4 - grazie mille. I loved your photos.
Awesome photos! Yay for dustings!
grazie Michelle!
I heard about the snow in Roma, how nice? well not really as Global Warming creeps up..
roxy - yes it was nice. Probably because I didn't have to shovel any of it.
I have been meaning to comment for a while now. Gorgeous photos! How cool to see snow in Rome, especially in the Pantheon! I have not seen snow in many years now. Miss it (but don't miss the cold). Hope spring comes soon for you.
girasoli - grazie...the weather is getting warmer here but the rain is schedule to return for seven days!
