September 11th

I will never forget that day.

Rest in peace Nigel.

Like Pearl Harbor for our grandparents and the Kennedy Assassination for our parent, I think that for our generation this is the event we will always remember what we were doing at the exact time - for the rest of our lives.

that day was so surreal for me, being in dc, driving past the pentagon after the plane hit, not being able to reach mom on the phone, freaking out cuz i could reach my friends in the WTC all damned day. it's why i get angry at people who trivialize the day (even if they don't mean to). it's very easy to do that if you don't know people who lost someone or don't live in NYC...i think living in DC is just different. the solidarity you saw in nyc didn't really exist here. maybe because it wasn't in the city proper? i don't know. in any case. just so sad. and gorgeous days in early September still freak me out (had a moment earlier this week) RIP Nigel.

It's too easy for those not living in the NYC area to forget. Good to see you haven't.

I'm sorry you lost someone close to you and I'm sorry for all of those who lost family and friends that day.

And for all the people who've lost family and friends in the aftermath.
