Campo dei Fiori - Sunday afternoon, music and food

I love checking out streets fairs. I really missed them when I moved to Los Angeles from New York City. I'm glad to be back in a walkable city.

I do eat calamari but octopus is still a little difficult for me. I had this one dish at a friend's house that was delicious, octopus and potatoes.

Sorbetto hits the spot on a hot day.

Leave the gun....

those cannoli look SO GOOD! There was a market there when I went for lunch...got to watch all the comings and goings b/c I ended up eating at obika (just for a place to rest for a bit). I'm so glad I got to finally see that piazza...very lovely :)

I want a cannolo!
Do they still have that guy in campo dei fiori selling that gadget that cuts carrots and other veggies into curlicue and other shapes?

This looks a heck of a lot better than the street food at the NYC fairs! I wish I lived in a walkable city. I can walk once downtown, but I still have to bring the car there.

I'm hoping to move real downtown when C moves out for college. I lived downtown without a car for years and loved it.

If you want a real cannolo come to Sicily, not Rome :-)

erin - the farmer's market is there monday thur saturday. It very popular and has been there for decades. It's one of the pricier ones (because it's in the Center and gets a lot of tourists) but v. pretty.

petulia - I've never heard of that market. I must check it out.

ciao chow - yes he is still there.

jen - It's fun being to able to walk to things and not having to drive all the time.

paolo - ha

girasoli - they were just bringing out the rest of the food as I was leaving. I wish I could have taken some photos but I was running late.
