I was never a big Kool and the Gang fan. I thought they were a little corny (i.e. "Celebration") but all week this song has been running through my head. I do like this version. JT sounds great and there's a nice sax solo.
It's hella hot in Rome. A good 10 degrees (F) above normal.
I hope those in the States have a great Memorial Weekend and my fellow residents on "the boot" stay cool.

Smooth song! It's pretty muggy in Milan too but this week I'm enjoying it because I froze my "fondo schiena" off last weekend in Dublin. Do you get lots of mosquitoes in Rome? That's the main thing I can't stand about summers here.
I love Flashback Friday. Brilliant and always leaves me with a smile. It's hot up here in Bergamo too 85 today and 92 tomorrow. Yikes. So much for spring. Bring on the mosquitoes and the flies.
Hmmm... I don't think we managed any party without Kool and the Gang. I have many memories of all kinds of dance, shoulders to breathe into, etc., with those songs.
But, yeah, a little corny when I think about it.
Hope you can stay cool!
I've been whining because it's around 80 and I have to move boxes all weekend. I think I'll be quiet. ;-)
Song is a little (actually a lot) before my time but hey, I'm rocking, the baby is rocking, we're good.
Have a fabulous weekend lady! Enjoy that Italian sun for me.
Love Kool & The Gang and this song. Have a great weekend.
This song is fun, I have to say. Kool and the Gang rank high in my iPod playlists...
While we're talking 1970's, what's your position regarding the curious case of KC & the Sunshine Band? :)
i still love that song! his voice was so unique
i've always liked their song "Joanna". it's very sweet. hope you're having a great weekend.
milanese - the mosquitos are pretty bad close to the river but otherwise not so bad.
scattered - It's only MAY! I can't believe this weather.
jen - ha. A high of 80 would be great.
skywalker - It's amazing how much of the "old school music" jams. Meanwhile half the stuff released last year sounds dated already.
sdg - hope you had a great weekend as well.
lola - "I'm Your Boogie Man" is a great song and I'm not embarrassed to say so publicly. KC had one of the best horn sections in music.
tracie b. - I agree.
ninety9 - I haven't heard that song in ages. Time to head back to YouTube. Hope you had a good one.
