Giada stepped on my foot.

Yes, one of the highlights of going to last night's premiere was seeing Ms. De Laurentiis. My boss and I were going over to say hi to a CAA agent we know. The gentleman he was talking to, turned around and said hello. That gentleman was Todd, Giada's husband. (gibber I know you are thrilled).

While I was talking to the agent, (my boss started speaking to a producer who walked past us), a woman passing by, lightly stepped on my foot and said "Excuse me". We were all blocking the aisle so it was a tight fit.

I had to restrain myself from stopping Giada and telling her I thought she was ROBBED during her Iron Chef battle with Rachel "no talent" Ray. If Rachel had not been teamed up with Batali she would have gone down.

Giada, who is about to have a baby, looked great.

I thought Katie, Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton also looked amazing. I walked in behind Diane and I had no idea she was that tall or slim. Her legs go on for days. Tom Terrific looks old standing next to Katie.

I don't get that whole scene at all. Katie seems so different from the sweet, somewhat shy person I met a few years ago.

The after-party was oustanding. The venue was huge. The food was from Mozza, there was a gelato cart, a candy bar (I lost my mind...gummy bears and swedish fish!) and a very good DJ. Of course only a few brave souls were dancing. Parties are for networking not dancing. ha

I have the BIGGEST girl crush on Giada! I watch her show all the time (and agree with you, by the way, about the whole Iron Chef thing). I am pea green with envy that you hobnobbed with her and Todd!

Oh, and Katie Holmes? That's what a Scientology-induced lobotomy will do to a girl.

It sounds like quite a night, especially because of the gummy bears! I'll bet Tom looks old next to Katie but he looked like a midget next to Latifah! I saw a picture and it looked sooo funny!

Glad you enjoyed and got stepped on by Giada!

I love Giada. But, the fact that she cooks all that great food and obviously has to eat a lot of it without getting fat makes me jealous! lol
You've got me curious about this Iron Chef thing. Never seen it. I am a fan of Rachel Ray too. I used to watch 30 minute meals all the time back home! So, I guess I will go to Youtube right now! ;)

Sounds like you had a great time. The candy bar is definitely a highlight (forget the celebrities, give me the gummy bears!! ;-))

YOU MET TODD! is he as adorable in person as he is on TV?

Katie is a glamazon now. Unrecognizable from the person she used to be. And that's fine. But it all seems so FAKE! The relationship, the subsequent quick ass marriage, the baby who looks like chris klein. I"M JUST SAYIN!

btw, I got your message last nite. i WAS out gallivanting until the wee hours of the morning.

HOW FUN! I luu-uv Giada and have always been bitter about the showdown with RR. What a glamorous night out you had!

Oh, you gave me my glamor fix for the day! And I love Giada. Love her recipes and her shows.

I would have been at the gelato bar, myself! What fun! (The whole night, that is, not just the gelato bar).

Also, why don't you come join us for the Writing Game this month?

cupcake - Some people like to hate on Giada and say she only has the show because of her last name or her looks. I disagree, she is a very good cook. You don't graduate from the Cordon Bleu without having some skills.

I really don't understand Scientology. It's a very big deal out here.

Liz - ha! if Tom's wife wasn't so much younger maybe he wouldn't look so old. If he thought marrying would "help" him with female moviegoers, he was mistaken.

giulia - that is funny. I notice she always takes small bites. Also her mom is very petite, most be the genes. I will try in the future to give you a heads up when I go on another anti-Ray rant. :)

shelley - when we walked into that room and I saw the candy bar, I almost jumped for joy.

gibber - yes, I think he is more photogenic in person. Re: Kate....I can't believe you went there. hahaha. Where is Chris Klein these days?

erin - It was so irritating to hear Ray constantly say "I'm not a chef". I yelled at the TV "then take your ass off a show that is called IRON CHEF". ugh.

jen - thanks for the invite. I still haven't written a damn thing this month. I am so ovewhelmed with getting ready for my taxes, move, etc. I'll check it out.

Getting back to your post on my blog - YAY!!! I'm so glad you're in!

I LOVE Giada - great recipes, beautiful soothing voice, and again, great recipes. :-)

Rachel Ray makes me want to run and hide in a corner. Her recipes don't really fall under the "what Tina likes to eat" category but some are good. But she's so.. grating! She should have lost Iron Chef for her voice alone. Not that I watch TV so I had no clue there was a battle between them on that until now. But still.

I'm still weirded out by the Fellini thing.

Hey maybe this time next year, you'll be blogging similar stories about the likes of Monica Bellucci, Raoul Bova and Giovanna Mezzogiorno ;-)

I can't believe I said Fellini.

I meant to say I'm still weirded out by the TOM and KATIE thing.

Why did I say Fellini?! sheesh.

I guess all of this made me think of La Dolce Vita or something...

Tina - Fellini?! Maybe Rachel reminded you of the woman from the beach scene in 8 1/2.

What you don't like to hear Rachel talk about EVOO? ha

Raoul is quite attractive. I need to post about him at some point.

I love Giada. She just seems so nice and normal. I hope she is. I wouldn't want to be disillusioned.lol did you see her new stuff at crate and barrel? I think that salt mix looks yummy.

I hope that Katie can escape that life she has been sucked into. did you see the new "unauthorized" biography of Tom Cruise is coming out? lol I haven't been a fan of his for awhile - crazy eyes.

sounds like it was a fun time =)

One of my favorite dishes is from Giada's show--chicken tetrazzini. OMG!! I love it.

Sounds like a fun time! I had a candy bar at my wedding :)

texas - I saw the items in the Crate and Barrel catalog but not in the store yet. I am trying to avoid that store as it is one of my favorites.

I heard about that new bio. I imagine Tom Terrific can't be happy about it.

dmarie - I saw that show. I have the recipe in my "to make" file.

How gracious of you to have a candy bar at your wedding for your guest. They are so fun.

It sounds like you rubbed nose (or were stepped on) by some famous people. Of course if I were there I would lose it all at the sight of gelato. I love gelato. I haven't had it in a while though beecause the one place that sold it by me sold crappy gelato and now went out of business.
Hope the flavors were good.
