Italy is in the quarterfinals!

I am so sorry France but you didn't play well at all during this tournament. Congrats to Holland who is playing some kick ass soccer. I know some of my relatives on the Dutch side of St. Maarten are celebrating.

I met a friend last night and she promised to get me some really great ear plugs. I will truly need them if Italy beats Spain this Sunday.

Last night as I walked from the restaurant (near the Coliseum) to my apartment, cars were honking, people had huge Italian flags waving. I thought "this is just for the quarterfinals."

Unfortunately, Pirlo and Gattuso will not be playing due to yellow card issues. That is a problem.

Forza Azzurri!

See! Italian Spiderman weaved a magical web of "CULO" for our boys. So happy today. But it will really be a problem without Pirlo. But it will be fun to watch anyway. Isn't it great to be in Italy for the games?

Hi ragazza...been following your blog for awhile now and congrats on your move! Rome definitely sounds like home for you. I wish when you lived in L.A. (I'm a native angeleno) you could have met my family and friends (my father is from Anguilla and I have many friends from St. Martin who live out here). But back to the real football...I'm all for Italy..Buffon is just...heaven. I used to be a goalie and he is just amazing.

You will surely need ear plugs if we beat Spain...I was in Rome when Italy won the World Cup and they were going wild in Piazza Venezia buring flags, kicking soccer balls lite with fire, flares, people dancing on top of cars...there were millions out and about!

Being in Rome after that win must have been pretty amazing. There was definitely need to celebrate!! :) I'm a little nervous about Pirlo and Gattuso not playing but the Italian team has a lot of great players on their bench and I think if Donadoni uses the formation he did for France they can definitely see results against Spain!! :)

milanese masala - ha. he sure did. You know that is one of my favorite words. I believe it's the same in Spanish. Sunday is going to be nuts.

k.c. - thank you. Hold up there are Anguillians in L.A.? Most of our relatives are in England, New York, Toronto and maybe a couple in Miami. But L.A.? We could be related the island is so small. When I lived in L.A. I met a few Jamaicans and Trinidadians but no one from the smaller islands. I agree Buffon in incredible. Super talented.

leanne - I can't even imagine the drama that will take place here on Sunday if we win. :)

glamah16 - ha. Okay I won't ask what your CS thinks of Italy.

los angelista - Oh it will be buck wild. It's summer and it's soccer. :)

eryn - yes it is fun and ear plugs would be a great investment.

jen - I understand. ha

claudia - I will be but probably only the first night. I really don't need to be out in the streets the whole week. :)

What does culo mean? I feel like it means something dirty in spanish :)

k.c. - i NEVER meet Anguillians outside of the island except in NY or Jersey. I live in DC and I know there must be one or two here, but I've never met them.

Sis. The French soccer coach looks like my boss, but with more hair. I told him that when he walked into my office and was wondering why I was watching soccer while at work. teehee!

NYC/Caribbean and Gibber-
Haha, yes meeting an Anguillan here in L.A. means you've met one of my family members...but St. Martin's are here. We probably are related, I don't want to blast my family info throughout the internet so I'll email you once I figure out how. There's actually a bunch in Atlanta now. I can't wait for the summer festival to start in Anguilla!Going there for a much needed vacation from July 31st to August 11th. Definitely counting down the days to relaxation.
