There is so much to talk about these days most of it depressing. The crazy primary (Florida/Michigan/superdelegates), annoying as hell Sean Hannity (he doesn't get it. I don't remember him calling Rev. Pat Robertson unamerican when he said gay people were one reason 9/11 happened), Wall Street bailouts, the mortgage mess, the recession, the sinking dollar, the fifth year anniversary of the start of the war, Rachel Ray's plan for world domination with her unappealing mediocre cooking, the list goes on.
I was the gym this morning stressing out about things I cleary have no control over. One friend said I should just stop watching the news. I could cut back but I will not stop reading the paper, political blogs and watching news programs. I like to be informed. Sticking my head in the sand doesn't mean all these problems will just go away. What I need to do is think about the good along with the bad.
Speaking of good things. I can't help but smile when I watch this video. So well edited.

I LOVE that song! The whole video is cute, but I especially got into it right after the "alright alright alright..." part with Charlie bobin his head up and down!
I hate watching the news, and prefer to stick my head in the sand. I feel if there's something really important to know, it will get to me one way or another.
i love this video...I watch it during christmas b/c I'm reminded of it everytime i watch Charlie Brown Christmas :) So funny
Yes that is a great video :)
I've been much happier since burying my head in the sand at least a bit. I keep up with the election stuff (here and in the US), but nightly news rapes and murders? Nah, those I can do without. Like Giulia said, if it's *really* important, I'll find out sooner or later...kind of like the tax rebate from the govt this year ;)
giulia - for the while the song was everywhere. Now a couple of years later I can appreciate it again.
erin - I need to buy the Charlie Brown Christmas CD. It's a classic.
bleeding espresso - the local news is usually the worst, very tabloid, then the last two minutes they give you a little uplifting story. ha
I am right there with you my friend! I totally have to take breaks from news and skim over the internet (or ask my husband) to keep up. I get too depressed and frustrated. why does it seem like the world is going crazy? sigh
that song can get anyone in a better mood!
I love this video too! Thanks for posting it.
I got rid of my tv two years ago and stay away from the news. I don't think our nervous systems were designed to take such stressful information on a dailly basis.
What fun, thanks for the first chance I've had to dance in ages!
I've never seen this video but how cute!
I can't stand the news for the most part because it's so sensationalized it's almost silly. Then, they repeat the same things over and over and, for the US news, they hardly ever report on what's happening in the rest of the world. I agree that it's good to be informed, but it's also good to have different sources and angles.
texas espresso - I have that discussion all the time with my siblings. Are things getting worse or are we just more aware of it?
ms. violetta - I agree. Moderation is a good thing.
joanne - you're welcome. :)
claudia - I had to cut way back on the local news. I couldn't take the whole if it bleeds it leads mentality or all the Britney coverage (seriously here in L.A. they do a lot of entertainment "news") I watch GMA for the first hour and then the nightly national news if I'm home. BBC News is excellent. The foreign news coverage here is pretty awful. They (big corporate owners) have actually cut back the minutes of coverage and slashed the budgets of many foreign desks. It's sad.
This totally made my day. You have no idea... thank you, thank you, thank you!
OMG, this was hilarious. I love this song as well. Thanks for sharing.
That was great!
Brilliance!!!! That's a class act editing job. lol
Thanks for lightening the mood of the day. :)
Those are my students! That is what my classroom looks like at various times. They love to dance!
You really must buy the CB Christmas CD; it's a classic.
Thanks for brightening my day a bit!

Stopped over from A2eatwrite. That was a great video! I can only watch the news once every few days.
Thanks for sharing that video!
Followed the pointer from a2eatwrite, and I'm glad I did. This perked me up, even out of my flu-induced blues. Thanks!
