I've been trying to find this soda in the supermarket. No luck. It seems as if it's only available at certain cafes and fornos (bakeries).
For what I can tell there is a Slow Food connection, the soda was created in 2008 and the lemons comes from the beautiful Amalfi coast.
This drink is delicious. It's very refreshing and light. It reminds me of a less syrupy Sprite.
If anyone has info on this drink, please share. Grazie.

You have officially become an Italian citizen with this post.
Go here for Lurisia
Hugs
Ele xx
hmmm anything with lemon is OK in my book! Did you check out their website for distribution ( http://www.lurisia.it ) or join their facebook fan page ?
Not satisfied with the non-designer version? :) You can come visit me - there's a cafè that sells it within walking distance of my house :)
I've seen this in my local supermarket - the Italian commented on it cos we pass near Lurisia on the way to the mountains - it's near Mondovì so I'd imagine even if the lemons are from the Amalfi coast it's probably made in Piemonte... no idea about distributors or where you could find it in Rome though. Sorry!
elenora - Ha. Grazie for the link.
simone - same here. I ADORE lemons. One day I will have a lemon tree in my backyard. I did join their fan page. Thanks.
sara - are you saying Sprite is the non-designer version? heh. I assume this version has less preservatives in it and I like that it's a local product. Trust me, the Coca-cola company (which makes Sprite) gets enough of my money every year. I just bought a four pack today. I try to stay away, but I can't.
caro - I'm going to check out the website to see if they distribute to any supermarkets in Rome. So far I've only seen it at various cafes.
I LOVE this gazzosa! I had to stop buying it because I was drinking too many a day. They also have a Chinoto that is really good .
Oh, I'll have to keep an eye open for this :). Ta!
sm - it is addictive! Right up there with San Carlo Rustica chips. In fact I like to enjoy both at the same time.
carrieitly - I highly recommend it!
Wow... I didn't know about this and I LIVE on the Amalfi Coast. I'll have to keep my eye out for it now. It looks like it would be refreshing, especially in the summer. I bet this is where all the Amalfi Coast lemons are going. :-) It's getting harder to actually buy Amalfi Coast lemons ON the Amalfi Coast. Thanks for sharing!
You should see gassosa in the supermarkets - it's not a brand, it's a type of drink! Think ginger ale, seltzer water, etc. This may be the "original" but there are definitely other brands - look closely at your soft drink aisle.
laura - You're welcome. I think it's a relatively new product (started in 2008?).
It's very light and not too sweet.
grazie Sara...I will.
I always see this when we go to Eataly . . .the Slow Food connection. I've never bought any but will have to next time! Love the packaging.
Be sure to check with Shelley; she wrote about gassosa, which inspired me to write about Calabria's own Brasilena :D
kim b - I agree, the packaging is great.
michelle - I do remember those posts. I will re-read. Buona Pasquetta.
Here in Rome for 5 weeks and loved reading your blog as part of my preparation. I stumbled on this stuff at a shop just west of the Cipro fermata. (Pizzarium, via Della Meloria, 43) They had several cases of the stuff outside. Next time you go to Trionfale, it's about 5 blocks west, turn left just past the Metro station.
And you're right...it does go well with San Carlo. Classica for me, though.
Donald - thank you so much. I will definitely check out this store next time I go to Trionfale. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.
they sell it in Switzerland and italy but the label is different. Also i heard they sell it at Eataly which is in nyc.
It's become a lot easier to find since I wrote that post two years ago.
In fact I need to buy some tomorrow.
