Flashback Friday - A little food porn from "Under The Tuscan Sun"

I just got back from the Farmer's Market. Mamma mia. The place was packed.

I still can't get over the excellent quality and the prices of vegetables and fruit here. So reasonable.

Strawberries are just starting to hit the market.

I'm going to make chicken broth this weekend and try a new recipe or two.

What are you cooking this weekend?

Below is a little clip from the movie "Under The Tuscan Sun."

Have a great weekend.

I'm appliance poor this week-I just got a new slow cooker and an original "mixit" bullet. At least that's what the box said! lol I'll be using them both this weekend!

I LOVE IT!!! this clip always makes me smile. I don't care that it's cheesy. Strawberry season is almost at the end for us Floridians - but they were (are) still OH SO good.

I just finished making homemade veggie meatballs which will go in a sweet/sour crockpot mixture for a big dinner tonight :)

cherrye - good luck!

simone - those waffles sound amazing.

michael - I'm sorry. :)

erin - I need to try to make veggie meatballs one day. Looking for more non-meat dishes. buon weekend.

anon - I work in film. I try to see as many movies as possible. It's part of my job.

I like all kinds of movies from Indie flims to cheesy Hollywood movies about a woman of a certain finding their way in the world.

I'm obviously behind, but what I cooked last weekend was rhubarb pie for a fundraiser and a Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. We froze our Thanksgiving turkey at Thanksgiving because it wasn't clear whether or not we'd be home, and I decided it was high time to defrost it. I roasted the turkey and made mashed potatoes, my sister's gravy recipe, cranberry sauce and butternut squash/pumpkin puree. We had pie for dessert - we brought home a mix and match set of slices from the pie sale. ;-)

jen - your comment reminds me to be on the lookout for Rhubarb at the markets.

I love the idea of a Thanksgiving dinner in March. Fantastic.
