It's less developed and crowded. The Dutch side is smaller but has a larger population.

I do have a French passport but was born in New York City. Both parents are from SXM. I took 7 years of French (jr. high/high school and one year in college). I remember maybe two sentences. Je suis fatigue and je m'appelle Arlène. My mom speaks French and English, Dad is multi-lingual.

Good luck with your move. My parent's (they currently live on the French side) neighbor is from France. The planes come in very low over the sea and the strip begins immediately. It always seems to me that they barely clear the fence. People stay clear, however.

Was driving on a causeway off downtown Miami once and a plane came in so low over the road that I was damned scared. Especially as this was post 911.

Ugh.Liane Spicerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05035607144500219524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18861479.post-3508478041921560682007-07-25T03:06:00.000+02:002007-07-25T03:06:00.000+02:00chris & erin - No that plane is def. lower than u...chris & erin - No that plane is def. lower than usual. There is another video of people laying on the beach getting pushed into the water from the gusts of a plane readying for take off. There are signs everywhere telling people to use caution, when cross the street due to the planes.

There is hardly any sand at that beach so again, I don't why one would sun bathe there. LOL

giulia - the runway in St. Barths is much shorter (and was one of the scariest landings I have ever experienced) and I don't think the planes get that low. I don't know if this runway is super short or what. I do know I would not stand there and take photos. :)

It is a very cool sight though sitting at the bar and watching the planes come in over the sea. Very intense but cool at the same time.

calabrisella - grazie, anch'io.

somepinkflowers - yes it does..could you imagine being in the car? I assume (hope) the plane only looked like it was going to hit the car or the fence.

thanks for stopping by.nyc/caribbean ragazzahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09370358466131415888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18861479.post-5299906220661514842007-07-25T02:50:00.000+02:002007-07-25T02:50:00.000+02:00looks as if the plane's wheels are touching the to...looks as if
the plane's wheels
are touching the top of the fence!

no way
i could stretch out there for a suntan!

:-)

on my beach
we have to watch out for low flying
sea gulls
who have just eaten,
if you know what i mean...somepinkflowershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07553884470329083831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18861479.post-37289733015387538392007-07-25T02:01:00.000+02:002007-07-25T02:01:00.000+02:00I feel for you... i dream of my famiglia ogni gior...I feel for you... i dream of my famiglia ogni giorno...

BaciniAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18861479.post-56292482641014445502007-07-24T21:49:00.000+02:002007-07-24T21:49:00.000+02:00HOLY SH*T!
